sorry, pics dont seem to be showing i did a search and know the mm is always stamped right on the joint of the ring but this one isnt as clear hopefully i can get the pics to upload properly.
also is this maker more uncommon? i havent seen many for sale

Yes, every '66' I have ever seen was stamped directly onto the joint.
I even had one that was double stamped (both sides of the ring), and both stamps were on the join.

I'm curious to know what the grey is under the black paint? Is it an undercoat or the base metal?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
