EK2 rim halves

I have an EK2 where two of the rim halves have come apart and you can see through to the core. Can this happen or does it mean its a fake?

Sorry I cant send a pic as I am cameraless at the moment

Yes, this can happen, and it does't necessarily mean your cross is a reproduction.

Hi Nick , what you`re describing sounds like the EK is fine , and the soldered seam has blown , maybe it`s had a knock ! Is there any stamp marks on the ribbon ring ? I`d like to see some pics

Hi Al

There are no stamp marks on the ring.

Everything else points to the cross as being ok. Just concerned me that the solder had given out!

I will upload a pic as soon as I can, thanks for your comments
