Hello
I 'm sorry but this cross is not original. You have to send it back. This strange date, details of the back are well known as fake.
Hi Fabri,
I had a slight suspicion by looking at the swastika, which seems not deep enough. Wow, still very disappointing to hear that this is not an original .
Could you please provide some details regarding the back (what makes it obvious fake), so that I can communicate that to my supplier and return the cross to him?
Thanks for your help!
G.
Hello
it 's clearly fake from the front side, the part you have to see is date. This date is really strange and neither similar with an original of all manufacturers.
The back is not clear, just I see a catch not familiar, the rest seems similar with an orginal, for example pin and anchor remember me an Orth.
OK - interesting. Here are some numbers to help finding more about this potential copy and help others who might get a similar cross.
Total Height: 43.6 mm
Total Width: 43.7 mm
Arms width: 26.0 mm, 25.8 mm, 25.8 mm, 26.1mm
Core is magnetic.
Once more, thanks for your comments, collecting EKs is great, but risky! Any idea the number of copies around the world versus the number of original ones?
Bye,
G.
No, I have no idea how many but I think they are a lot, I can say just postwar crosses production started some months after the end of the war and today market is full of fakes.. :-(
