It is mostly for the title of your thread, which I have renamed already.
Have you checked the ribbon ring for a maker's mark, many were stamped.

The ring is not marked which is why I asked the question. I have now learned that this cross is an unmarked example by L. Christian Lauer (14) of Nürnberg-Berlin. This is indicated by the shape of the 3 in 1939 and a small L integrated in the engraving on the frame to the rear. Good learning for me.

Not my area of collecting interest but I like to learn.
