A skilled and talented tanker, for sure, and "war is war", but I have to wonder to myself just how many lives was this man responsible for ending...

He destroyed 15 tanks in 14 minutes I do believe...talented
He was the best at what he did-no doubt there. His death is still controversial even today. Was it an air attack that destroyed him and his tank or other action? It is still being vigorously debated even now and will likely never be definitively solved for sure.

Apparently it was a Canadian division of Sherman tanks that destroyed his tank, I don't know if this is true because their tanks were some yards away which Sherman's against a tiger at a far distant wont do much damage to a tiger.
I remember when I was living in Normandy that the local resident would say they new where his body was but no one be live them.
Intil they did find his body and they were right.

Recall reading of his exploits against allied tanks in one of those Stackpole books. Really wiped out those other tanks in lightning quick action.
Anyone know if what is left of the tank is on display anywhere.
Some info here about him... Michael Wittmann - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I seen a show called battlefield mysteries and there is a guy in France somewhere that has a couple parts from his tank in his barn, I think he has a number plate from his tank which was 007
