Wunsiedel - The grave of the former Hitler deputy Rudolf Hess in Wunsiedel in northeastern Bavaria has been leveled. The bones were exhumed by Rudolf Hess and been transported to incineration, a spokesman for the district Wunsiedel.

My German isnt too good, but from what I can understand if the site was getting used as an area of pilgrimage for Neo-Nazis I can see why his remains were removed. This might not stop some from still visiting it though....

The city has refused the familly to renewed the place because of the higher and higher number of neonazi coming in pilgrimage.(+5000neo/10000 inhabitants). Many cities have to do that because the neonazis are creating problems.

The situation has nothing to do with history ...
If the minority who have tried to turn Hess's grave into a shrine had left things alone, there would have been no problem.
They have only themselves to blame for the withdrawl of the rights of the Hess family.
