Some of the rarest escape and evasion printed items are those on blue aerogramme paper. I was lucky enough to pick up another map (although, unfortunately, missed out on another), like the other one that I have it is printed on Imperial Air Mail aerogramme paper. It is sheets J3 and J4 covering Italy.
I have shown it with the other examples of J3 and J4 that I have printed on mulberry leaf tissue paper and silk as well as the other aerogramme printed items that I have.

Sheet 46-I covering Derudeb
Sheet 56-M covering Gallabat
Another example of sheet 45-K covering Atbara. This one has an interesting ink stamp for “B COMPANY” hand dated 7-9-39
Sheet 56-E covering Umbrega
Now I think this is a very rare beast. I believe it to be one of a series of maps referred to as early “blue water” maps which apparently covered North Africa and Italy, however, the only reference I can find to one is in R.E. Baldwin’s book, Behind Enemy Lines.
The map covers Italy and the sheet identification would appear to be M.D.R 591/8715 covering Northern Italy and M.D.R 591/8718 covering Southern Italy. The map is printed on silk. One edge has the remnants of some sort of tape, most likely from post war framing or being stuck somewhere, two edges have been left as raw silk and the final edge appears to have been heat sealed in a way that I have not seen before and interestingly has stitch holes running along it.
The map also has a printing error where it t has folded or creased during the screen printing process.
A single sided Bartholomew map sheet T4 covering the Middle East.
A “blue water” version of the silk map covering Burma, Siam and Assam. Interestingly this one is stamped “made in Bombay”. I have shown it with the non-coloured version.
