Hi there.

This is not my area of collecting, but I have found some information.

If you follow the link below and look at post #3, it looks very similar in shape to your example.

From post #4 - This type of crickets were made in France during 1970 and 1980 and now are sold for the real deal.

Cricket used during D-Day?

So maybe being painted in the French colours points to your example being one of those 70s/80s souvenirs.

It isn't a wartime cricket. Post war political rally free handout would be my guess. You'd not last long in the resistance flashing a French flagged cricket about in front of Les Boche.
