After seeing your photos of it Joe, to me it appears to have been used later than WWII,
as the green thread shows it came off a post-war jacket, shirt, etc - likely late 1950's
or 1960's, IMO. - I've picked a lot of thread out of patches, Lol !
But as the 'Eagle Patch' site claims, Some WWII production was likely used post-war,
and possibly into the Vietnam era. I still like it, and it's good to see you have
found a tab to complete it.
( My purchase it turns out, is even later - 1970's-80's - with merrowed edge.........! )
Regards,
Steve.
Thanks for your kind words and help with all this.
Why does our hobby have to be a mine field?! Nothing is ever easy!
I like my patch as well. The eagle patch corner webmaster said it stands a chance of being a late WWII vintage patch, and unless I intend to collect ONLY WWII airborne and specifically 101st stuff, it'll do just fine. It's good enough for me.
Unfortunately, the mine field aspect carries over into all sorts of things:
collecting, car repairs, buying a home, etc, etc. 'Caveat Emptor' or
Buyer Beware, though occasionally you come out on top.........!

Steve.
Lookin' good.........!
