    Hi Tommitank
I have spent a lot of time over the years looking at WWII British berets and I have a few concerns regarding the beret you have posted
1 no double row of stitching to the white doted lines or near them
2 The WD stamp should be on the inside part of the brim and not to the center
3 the way the white lines run they appear not be a constant width apart
4 the width of the brim looks wrong for the period see below some out of my collection
I hope I am wrong Stevejust purchased first para beret! what do you think please?just purchased first para beret! what do you think please?just purchased first para beret! what do you think please?just purchased first para beret! what do you think please?just purchased first para beret! what do you think please?just purchased first para beret! what do you think please?

In case anyone does not know Steve, he is a well known collector and is very knowledgeable on WWII Berets and if he has concerns then I would take them seriously.

I sorry to say that I also think it is a pimped and restamped post war beret. I hope you can get your money back. Any chance for ref purposes to see all of the inside and all of the underside of it?
    Regards,

    Jerry

Glad to hear this and next time ask before you buy. Also remember that an original wartime para beret would be at least £500 unless you find one in a boot fair from someone who does not know about them.
