Looking for some opinions on this paratrooper wing badge.

Article about: What sort of thing do you look for on the cast fakes? Do these often have a different catch than the originals?

    Hella all!

I just picked this up, and even though I am not very familiar with the style of wings issued during WWII i figured the price was low enough to take a chance. I am hoping to get some opinion on what era these wings are from. They is no makers mark and it is only marked sterling right under the pin back in the middle. The wings seem more detailed than original WWII pieces that I've seen. Possibly unissued? They have me stumped. Any opinions would be great!

Not too sure on these they look like they miht have been polished more recently, but i think the clasp and sterling marks are a good signfor WWII era. I am not 100% on the authenticity on these since most i have seen have a flat back, yours could just be a variation. I am sure Walkwolf (steve) would know.

Thats what confused me about them. I noticed things that appeared to be WWII but then I noticed differences that made me question that idea. Thanks for the help!

Looks like a good WWII wing. I like the catch and the bends in the pin.
It also appears to have been die stamped. There were many makers
of insignia, and companies used their own designs or copied
others - this one is a 'generic' type with no
    maker's hallmark.........

Been cleaned of it's patina, but I like the look of it. There are lots
of cast fakes around these days too, so be careful if you
    decide to collect a bunch.........!
