I also kept the descriptions made by the seller, which I put below.
“This is a patch and its “tab” of the 82nd Airborne Division. Measure 3½ "by 2½". It is after World War II and comes from an old New Jersey patch factory, which manufactured them for 70 years and closed in 1990”.
“This is a patch and its original “tab” of the 101st Airborne Division, from the time of the Vietnam War, so its rear is not plastic. It comes from an old patch factory in New Jersey, which manufactured them for 70 years and closed in 1990”.
Both were purchased from an New Jersey eBay seller from Ringwood.
I also remember the prices I paid for them (10,00 USD and 5,00 USD) so I know that it is not historical pieces. In any case, I would be very grateful to hear opinions from experts in this area.
By the way I would like to complete this section of my collection by buying another patch. In this case a Shoulder patch 187th Regimental Combat Team.
Of course I am not looking for something historic or especially old, just one that looks good with my other American patches.
Any suggestions from a recommended seller will be appreciated.
Hi there friend
The 101st is merrow edge post 1969-1990's,they added the plastic adhesive backing on the reverse c 1986.
82d Abd looks to me to be a factory reject with the uneven look of the AA , the tab is poor workmanship , it also might of been waiting to have a merrow edge added to both but was rejected.
187th RCT nice Korean war era SSI.
Phill
Thanks for your answer and information, Phil.
