fake badge & post war beret imo, the badge is an obvious fake and the beret has the wrong lining and the trim has been sandpapered to age it

Whatever its just an opinion.
I agree entirely. Before even expanding the pictures the lining sticks out like a "sore thumb" and the all-telling makers label is conveniently missing.. Then when expanded the wear on the band looks unbelievably contrived. A genuine leather band in normal wear will have disintegrated before it ever looks like that and if that degree of abrasion ever did occur there would be nothing left of the wool. So, even if the band ended up like that it doesn't match the condition of the rest.
As for the bage, as Jerry said, it's obvious
Just as a matter of interest what is the asking price?
