SEARCH INFORMATIONS ABOUT EARLY HSAT fiber rib AIRBORNE HELMET

Hello everybody,

Just found this helmet which is like it was found in a cellar
Inside on cloth bands are written two letters which are the beginning of forename and last name W.B.
Sergeant is also written.
Army number has only five numbers ? possible ?
It is 85698

If somebody can help me it would be great. Many thanks from France

That is a very early HSAT with the first pattern liner. It looks like all the felt blocks that separate the rubber ones have been lost. Early chinstrap, too.
