Strange Denison smock

I saw this listed on eBay and wondered what people’s thoughts were. An early attempt at a reproduction? A home made smock? Or something different?

The material looks similar to an early smock, however, the pockets and tail are wrong and the buttons are obviously the biggest give away. The condition almost looks too good making me think that it might have been more recently made. It’s not a type of reproduction that I have seen before.

I’m not bidding but was just interested in peoples thoughts (I wouldn’t bother too much with what is written in the listing as it appears to be a lot of waffle)

1950's & some nation OTHER than Britain would be my first thought...

Possibly, but I’ve not seen any in the same camouflage material nor with buttons. It doesn’t appear in the Denison book (from Military Mode) which is why I’m leaning towards a homemade reproduction by someone who either didn’t have poppers or the ability to attach them.
