Hello
What are your thoughts on this British Shoulder patch?
It looks like it was tunic removed.
Thank you

You are right to ask because as I am sure you know these are very widely copied both as copies for collectors and to be used by reenactors but also to deceive!
I think it has a chance as the construction looks correct and these were made by several different makers both for odnance supply and private / tailor supply.
My reservations are that the letters look a little uneven in dimension compared to each other but that might be an effect of age. Also the material of the arc itself looks a bit "soft and fluffy".
I am leaning towards originality but I would try to get it checked "in hand" by a cloth badge specialist.
I hope this is of some help.
Regards
Mark
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Its a good honest example .
