a ww2 aircraft Wheel: fighter or bomber?

Hello from France
A friend of mine needs help. He sends me pics from a ww2 wheel. According to the size (8.00 - 10 1/4) and marking, I think that the wheel comes from a fighter (Spitfire or Hurricane). My friend told me about a crashed Halifax and his tail wheel. And I can't find a crashed fighter in his neighbourhood, but two Halifax.
I don't know what it's right.
Could it be possible that this wheel comes froms a bombers tail wheel?
