Well, I see that you didn't read the thread that I recommended, so, I have edited the title of your thread, and moved it to the correct section of the forum.

There things I do like about it but also things I don't and the things I don't are bothering me. I can't find a match to the date on any known and accepted original Karneth badges. The catch looks a little too wide and the finish doesn't look 'right' for an original piece. I would expect to see surface bubbling on the finish but the roughness of the surface looks like the texture of the material and I'm wondering if this is a cast.
Can you post a photo of the reverse with the pin down please?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
ok l,ll get a pic of what you asked..thank you, there is bubbling on the eagle, and reverse, but cant see it in this pic
There are some near perfect fakes of this award. So extreme caution is needed.
The catch plate looks a little odd to my eyes. I will need to pull my books out for some research.ifht be a day or so before I can though.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

l thank you for your time and help
After taking a further look. I'm still not liking the base of the catch. Much clearer photos would help as it is still a bit blurry.
That said, I agree with Arian on the number plate not being typical.
With all these open questions, I would pass on this
