It is an unknown maker referred to as a "half moon" due to the shape of the hinge base.

Did some research, probably tombac. Interesting.
Unlikely this one is made from tombak.
It is made from zinc, and most likely the silver finish has tarnished with the years.

Definitely not Tombac, unknown maker (half moon) this is a Zinc badge that is copper coated.
