Hi Guys, these photos were taken at the 60th Anniversary commemorations 5 years ago.
A Dutch friend of mine, Hans, has a special licence to allow him to dig on the battlefield.
He recovered these parts from a British 6prd anti tank gun. They are the towing hook and half of one of the special folding trail legs. These parts were recovered from the corner of Acacialaan, Oosterbeek.
This was the very spot were Lance-Sergeant John Daniel Baskeyfield of the 2nd Battl, The South Staffordshire Regt, won his Victoria Cross using a 6prd A/T gun. It is almost certain the parts recovered are from this gun.

These now reside in a private collection in the area after the Museum turned them down...
