Cleaning aluminium paste tubes
Anybody have a top tip for getting dirt out of toothpaste/lotion tubes? I found an unusual one that has writing on but I can’t read it because too much dirt in all the creases of the metal. I did try citric acid on one but it just removed all the print. Have tried a few cleaning products but no joy.
As you can see there’s a lot of work to go!
Thanks

Hot water and detergent is as good as anything to get dirt off. Don't clean with anything too abrasive, an old toothbrush is good. I always carry one in my kit.

Hello.
The tube is not lotion or toothpaste.
Processed cheese "Tilsiter" in tubes - "BONA"
If the initial state is deplorable, then it is not possible to clear it.
After finding, let it dry and wash with soap and an old toothbrush.
With respect.

Sometimes you can even still smell the cheese inside these tubes!

Around 2006, I found a half full tube of this kind of cheese.
