Mg131 cartridge
Does anyone have more information about this cartridge ?
Bottom stamped 40 avu 8d and some small stamp on the lower side ? I think 63 or 65.
But what does this number mean ?
From what i can find this is a 13 mm mg131 cartridge .
Also found that these are rare , is this true? If yes then why ?

8d - is just a batch number
The symbol you are on about is the ( probably a even more specific term for it out there ) a Luftwaffe waffenamt (acceptance stamp) with 63/5 being whatever Entity that represents
As for this being rare. It is just a casing at the end of the day so I really wouldn’t call it rare, if it had a projectile it would naturally be worth more

The value or what this case is worth is not important to me .
I was just wondering why i cannot find so much of these for sale ( so rare maybe was not the correct word for it ) and if they are for sale they go for a higher ammount . Please correct me if i am wrong . But as you said in the end of the day its just a casing .

Ordnance dealers range from dirt cheap to extortion to be honest. With patience I imagine a casing could be found in the U.K. for less than £25
