Dimas, that is amazing, where are these? Are they on peoples land or just on waste ground!!! I would just love to see them
Ben
Hi Ben, this story has been big news in the military vehicle world this past few months.
To cut a long story short:
Vehicles were dug in as a defence line between Bulgaria and Turkey, possibly as decoy targets.
Now not needed: scrap men started to illegally cut vehicles up plus one Bulgarian Officer caught selling one to a German collector.
After many years of inaction the authorities finally wake up to the fact there is big bucks to be made here!
The German Vehicles are all removed and brought together ready for distribution to the National Army museum but the majority are going to be auctioned off. The best will be kept in Bulgaria. It will be really interesting to see what prices will be realised!
Cheers, Ade.
I tell you what guys, I bet they fetch a few bob
Ben
Hi Ben, this is a good link as it gives details of every known surviving German tank:
Surviving Panzers
There are 19 Pz IV's plus the 6 Stug III's and the Jagdpanzer IV L/48 all coming from Bulgaria.
Cheers, Ade.
Unbeleaveable to see so many of these relic tanks in one erea and in pretty good condition to , what a thrill to be there dragging them out, awesome , Raymond
Absolutely incredible!
It just goes to show what is still out there!
Hopefully, at least some of them will be restored to running condition - let's hope that the ones that are auctioned find good homes!
I like the Jagdpanzer IV. Rare and amazing. Condition is also looks like completed one!
