hi sniper ,walkwolf is correct , repro coin never existed . not sure if this fact ,but i was told this coin was made by the ss vetrans HAIG organisation like the cuffbands thay had made .i think the cufftitles came with unit historys as bookmarks and the coins were to fundraise . anybody know if this is true ? .....paul

I'm not so sure about the SS Veteran thing, Paul. As a 5 Reichmark coin
surely these never existed, and if a post-war commemorative,
it should not carry Adolf Hitler's image..............

There are a few period items with Hitler on them, but they are commonly in the
form of postcards, tinnies and 'Hitler's Dank' badges, as well as an official
commemorative medallion of when A.H. came to power in 1933.

hi steve , good point re the hitler image , first saw these coins in the late 80s . never took them to be a period striking . but always interested in where thay came from . remind me of the famous channel island canteen tokens that flooded the market at that time ......cheers paul
