Have three german paintings
I have 3 german paintings from same artist. Looks like his name is Reinhart Scherd. They came from a vet. One looks like a paratrooper, the other looks like a field marshall maybe, and other a soldier with dog(this one has a silver plaque noting stalingrad infront). Does anyone know about this artist? On the back of all three frames is german news papers. Im trying to get more info on values also.

Beautiful brush strokes!!! I am stunned by intensity and the dynamic atmosphere on the canvases!!!

From an artistic viewpoint, they are truly awful.
Also, they are full of errors in terms of uniforms and insignia. Just look at the silly cap badge and collar patches worn by the general / field marshal, which don't have even the slightest resemblance to the real thing or the Luftwaffe breast eagle facing the wrong way in the paratrooper picture. No way were these done by a German wartime artist.
The Stalingrad sleeve shield, by the way, is a post-war fantasy piece. (A Stalingrad shield was projected, but never instituted or manufactured.)

That's what I thought also. Someone invented a name and dates
and made some paintings, I would not hang one of these onto my
walls. Who knows there are people who like this style.
The painter has not much knowledge about uniforms. Pfui!!
The eagle from the paratrooper even seems to be scared and
is flying into the wrong direction!

I guess if I tried to do a painting, It would look like this. It is a matter of taste really. If the OP is happy with them, that's fine. But I would personally pass on them.
