    Default Hitlers silverware?

Difficult to see the back but there is a watermark ... looks like a flamingo. Husbands Oma & Opa were supposedly friends with Hitler. Both are now deceased & we acquired them. Curious if they are legit & if so, their value (if any).

Thanks a bunch to any info!

    They look legit to me..
The watermark as you describe it is actually twins.. from this maker: Henckels J.A. ZWILLING, Solingen
They produced many different types of knifes, daggers etc. During the war. They are still making knifes today.

Very nice set of tableware you got there, and if the story is true then you have some gems there..

For prices.. we are not a valuation site, but look around dealer sites etc. And you will find other similar pieces to compare to.

    Thank you for showing these.

Interesting items. It would be helpful to see the case as well if it is original to the set. NH

Unfortunately not one of the recognized official Hitler silver service patterns but Hitler was gifted many silver sets and this one could be one of them.
That said, these unofficial services don't reap the prices that the official ones do.

The "AH" monogram is a recent engraving in my opinion. If you look at the base of the trough engraved it shows white shiny metal, it should be darkened with age, as you see with the lines on the edge of the handle. Post war addition to inflate value.

Thank you all for your replies.

If we were to physically take the pieces somewhere to be appraised ... where or who should we seek out?

    Thanks again!

That would depend entirely upon where you live!

Then I would look for militaria specialists and auction houses in your area. You could also try sending photographs to specialist dealers, but unlike on this forum, experts/dealers will not give an appraisal based purely on photographs.
