Militracks, Overloon 2018
A year has passed and a new "Militracks" is waiting.
It will be held at Overloon this weekend, May 19 and 20.
Maybe we meet there?
This is the last update from the organization:
Hello Militracks friends,
Current status of tanks and tank destroyers on our list:
•Königstiger: we have good hopes that it will be here. And from today onwards we will publish all new info we get on the KT vehicle page (check our vehicle list right here on this page) so make sure you take a look at that if you're interested in the Königstiger ...
•StuG: too many troubles getting it through Germany (because of Kriegswaffentransportgesetz) will probably mean that it won't participate this year.
•Hetzer: ready for transport to Overloon
•Renault: ready for transport to Overloon
•38(t): again, administrative troubles in Germany have blocked its participation for this year.
Militracks is on Saturday 19 May and Sunday 20 May 2018. The military collectibles market opens at 09:00, at the same time as the gates to the grounds open. The vehicles begin driving starting at 09:30. From that time, there will be on-going rides, with a short lunch break at noon. Militracks lasts on both days until 17:00.
New this year will be the Restoration Centre, a technical workshop where skilled craftsman (in German: Handwerksmeister) will show you how they restore historical vehicles. We think that there will be a lot to see and a lot to learn.
Riding is in principle possible the entire day, but there is naturally no obligation: Militracks is namely, above all, a sociable event where people with technical interests can meet each other, exchange experiences or make purchases at the large military collectibles market.
The location in the woods, with the museum within arm’s reach, makes a day at Militracks an absolute pleasure for young and old.

MORE ! MORE ! MORE!!!!! (pics please). I was walking around those trees about a month ago thinking that a King Tiger would never be able to weave through....how wrong was I?!
-
How cool is that king tiger!
Great to see it in action.

It was a great day again. I was not able to see the Königstiger,
as walking on that ground is for me "a no go". This is my handicap!
So thanks for the great photos and short film. I think those that not
went here, now regret not having seen "the beast".....
The director of the Overloon-museum told me and ZGS, when we met
him, on the way out in the afternoon, there were about 8,500 visitors.
That was on Saturday. Who knows how many were visiting Sunday
when the weather was much better and the sun was shining.
-
That’s about the number they get at Bovingtons “Tankfest” each day......
-
Is possible of course, but when we went the day was not over yet.
We left early in the afternoon to buy us a big ice at Clevers!
