NSDAP Papier-mâché Wall Eagle

Hi All,

Picked this up a couple of months ago from a collector who is in his eighties.

He told me that it came from Nuremberg and was used in party Rallies.

It’s made of Papier-mâché and is 70 x 50 cm.

I put it in a frame to keep it safe from damage.

It seems like a period piece.

I didn’t take a photo of the back before I framed it, but don’t want to keep taking it out of the frame.

I’ve seen a couple of other Paper eagles online but not the same design as this.

Has anyone else seen an example like this before?

I’ve shown photos of it to a couple of American dealers, who said they haven’t seen any reproductions of this eagle on sale at shows before.

Hard to say with this Pic, but it could have been used for decoration. Good thing is that the eagle is looking left, so it might actually be a party eagle.

Thanks for the reply. I just scrolled through my photos on my iPhone and found a photo of it from before I framed it. I forgot I had this.

For me it looks like an period piece. But that's not for sure, cause nowadays anything gets faked by someone. Anyway it looks nice and decorative.
