Plane Ashtray

Article about: I bought this from a seller in Hamburg, Germany. I don't smoke, but I like planes! There are random numbers stamped on the bottom plus a faint marking, which I circled in yellow. Anyone have

    Nice piece of work. Can anyone identify if the piston is from an aircraft, be rather more valuable if from a Heinkel engine I would think.

    Even though the middle stripe looks a bit yellowish in the first set of photos, the colors where the piston rings would go are actually black/white/red (from top to bottom), which is the same color scheme as the old German flag (1933-1935). If this was a post war piece, the colors and order of colors would be off. Because of this, I believe the ashtray to be a prewar piece, but because it seems to be one of a kind, who really knows!

    The screws are made of brass. If only I knew an elder German who was an airplane mechanic during WW2, I'm sure he would be able to tell us where the piston came from!
