Putsch Sketch

This original pencil sketch and later card of the same design by artist Albert Reich combines both of my interests in the Kampfzeit and art. Albert Reich 1881-1942 grew up in Neumarkit and was a long time friend of Dietrich Eckart. In fact, he even wrote a biography on Eckart in the early 30s. Reich also designed the dust cover of the 1st edition of Mein Kampf. His works were displayed in the House of German Art and some of his works were also purchased by Hitler. A cool piece that looks great in my collecting room!

After looking at a reference book I found another work by Reich done in the same style as my sketch that was also made into a card. This card was from 1931.
