It stands for Reichsführer-SS (SS-High Command) and if real would have used by Himmler and his personal staff .
I don't want to comment about originality but they look pretty good .
And welcome to the Forum .
Thank you Chris for your reply. Ive been a silverware collector for a little while and picked up this piece from Hermann Historica a while back with a lot of other pieces. Ive had an idea about the RFSS but its the abbreviation following that ....
Thanks Friedrich! And thank you for responding!Any guess on the abbreviation following RFSS ?
No, sorry. You must find someone who is expert in historic German table ware, which must exist.
My province is the history of the SS, and I collect black uniforms, as you can see in the SS rubric here.
Good luck.
I am sure there are persons very expert in just this field, but my focus is in textiles, and the tailoring of uniforms and caps.
I think the letters after RFSS are thus:
gesucht: Vers.
Abkürzung Langform
Vers. Versammlung
vers. versichert
Vers. Versicherung
Vers. Version
VERS Verband Ehemaliger Rostocker Studenten
- - ------- - -
and such does not make any sense at all, at least to me....
- - ------- - -
We need Andreas here. He knows everything in the most subtle detail.
Might it be "Ders" ?
Just an observation, but the RFSS does look to be stamped at a different date than the rest of the marking. Also, are there any Silver content hallmarks?
