Very interesting piece indeed , i like it , looking forward to some comments .cheers Raymond
I have seen some strange things that I knew were real, as the orginal SS recipriant officers showed what they had received as a farwell present from their unit, to include a very unusual dagger all engraved with the officers name. So I wouldn't discount this without some closer looks at what tooling was used to make it, time period wise.
Is it me or did they spell Leibstandarte wrong ?
One would think that the SS would spell their own name right.
The guy who wrote it obviously didn't speak German.
I'm no expert, but it does look like a fantasy piece to me.
Schoolboy error on the mis spelling of Leibstandarte , i've seen it happen on the stamps etc of fake SS Documents , for me Richie it put's it into the post war fantasy category i'm afraid![]()
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Now that is FUNNY!
