for the next time the easyst was to spot a fake is look at the hagal rune and if you see 2 lines of dots then you have a fake in front of you, if you see just one line dots then you shoud look at the markers mark

Hi Guys, I am new to here and I came here to find out about items that I have in my collection, I have a Julleuchter the same as the one in the photos that Klinger posted and have been tiring to get information on it. I was brought back to Australia in around 1950 with a uncle who was in Germany with the occupation force as a pilot with the RAF. it was always very plain looking and had a crack in the body of the item. The SS runes are an exact match so it should be an original due to its age?? Ray

Welcome to the forum Little Ray.

I would suggest that you post photographs of your example on the forum. That way, everybody can see what you are talking about and hopefully give you the appraisal you are looking for. If possible, take the pictures outside in the daylight.

Can be a good sign as the originals were left bare, with an almost clay-like appearance. Modern copies tend to be coated with some sort of varnish or gloss. Often a giveaway that it is junk.
