Picked this nice little mixed lot lot up from a local auction on Saturday for only £50.

1853 pattern Enfield socket bayonet including frog and scabbard - it needs a good clean up and leatherwork needs feeding but in pretty good condition,
Webley open holster with a 1940 date stamp.
Nice '42 dated 17pr shell case that needs a good clean.
Couple of WW1 trench art pieces, one is inscribed with the date 1919 and Peronne, a village very near to the Somme.
Civil defence tin hat dated '41
Some modern (1980's) French 12.7mm cartridges in a belt.

All in all, well worth £50 I think and always nice to pickup a bit of bargain. I didn't actually attend the auction in case I got carried away with the bidding but just put in a low absentee bid and waited to see what happened

All that for £50??!! Awesome. Our local auctions would go high on that stuff. I like the shells.

Got to be well worth that for the bayonet alone surely?

That's what I thought...That's what I love about auction houses - if there is no-one there who knows or cares about this kind of stuff you can get a real bargain
