    Default RCN Trench Art

Was helping a friend cleaning out his sisters barn today when I saw this on the wall . I thought it was wooden at first , but when I got it down I realized it cast aluminum. It is screwed to the wooden backing . After some convincing and heavy lifting, he gave it to me .Has anyone seen these before , I've done some searches but couldn't find another.

    It's a River-class frigate HMS/RCN Monnow (K441)
British built transferred to RCN in 1944
Sold to the Danish after the war

Hope you like it as much as I do !

Great piece of folk/trench art. I like the logos painted
at either end of the ship. The one on the right is for
the Merchant Navy. ( I recently bought a couple
    of MN pins ).........

Thanks guys for the likes and replies , I did notice the Merchant Navy shield , guess the other one is the ships logo . Another interesting thing about Monnow (K441) is it was one of the few Canadian ship never to see a Canadian Port . Thanks agains for the replies .
