Recent Finds as of 12/11/2010

Hi All,
Thought I'd share some of my recent finds. With the birth of my son, it's hard to get out there to look for things, but I've managed to on occasion.

I also picked up a WWI era US uniform that I need some assistance with. Link is here:

The rest of the items speak for themselves. The gas mask bag and components were a cheap pickup since the actual mask is missing. The only thing that interested/excited me was that it was named and I could potentially research the original user. I was able to pull a scan of the draft card for the fella off of Ancestry. I'd say the signatures are an excellent match so I'm 100% sure it's the same guy.

The flag I was told was used during WWI, however of course there is no way of telling when it was manufactured. I picked it up because it looks beat to hell and will display nicely.

In any case, comments good or bad are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Thank you, sir. These belonged to my grandfather who recently passed. My guess is they were given to him by is older brother who was in the Navy during the war.

Hi Eric, I rather like the gas mask bag. I think that the signature is a good match too and you have found your man.
