As the title says I saved a yellow ballon that was found during ww2. It would be fun if anyone know what it is.

Hi Cloudkicker,
You will have to provide photos, otherwise it is impossible to help.
If you take lots of clear photos and maybe include measures of the ballon, I’m sure someone can help.
Kind regards,
Wil.
accidentally posted before I was done^^, added pocutres now
It looks like a weather balloon. I have an unissued one from 1945 but it is not as large.
I just re-read your post and noted that you said half of it was not there. It seems somewhat larger than a weather balloon but a lot smaller than a barrage balloon. I wonder if it was some sort of observation balloon
Observation balloon - Wikipedia
The ballon is about 3.2 m top to bottom, I think its shape is about round. The ballon is split almost down the middle like when cutting an orange.
My initial idea was to frame it, but it will not fit on my wall I realised..
The paint is very brittle, anyone know any way to conservate it properly?
I don’t think your balloon is one of these, however, it is something I had never heard of before:

As for conserving it I’m afraid I have no idea. It might help to contact a museum, especially one that deals with fabrics and see if they can offer advice
