Need Help with Uniform & Rank, Austria 1911 & late 1930's

Hi,
I'm not sure if anyone can help but I'm looking for the possible rank or position of the soldier below. He dated the 1st picture as 1911 and my family was having difficulty reading what he wrote (something to his parents?). This is a young picture of Erich Otto Wilhelm Jacobi (my grandmother's father). I'm trying to do a little more research as I am writing a paper for a grad school class and I'm researching my family tree.

The second picture (much poorer quality) is again of an older Erich Jacobi and his family. Any tips on ranks or uniforms is much appreciated!!

Don't know about the second - some sort of Nazi party official I would guess.

i would venture a guess that by his collar tab and cut of the uniform that he is in the wartime SA,,,rank tab would be for a Sturmfuhrer i believe
