Pic of Austro-Hungarian officer

This is a picture of my ancestor Ladislav Ritter von Berke, he felt on eastern front in 14. I would like to know which officer rank did he held??? and if he was cavalry, or infantry etc...

Hi... on the photo is not a real "officer", but "military official" - you can see that he has not "rank stars", but rossettes on collar... he has also sabre of Austrian higher officials model 1881 on that photo...
