I am not an aviation guy, although my father was a flying instructor
in Canada during the war. (First five photos.)

In the group photo he is bottom row ...third from the right.

He got his pilots license in 1938 -see the photos below.

Both Tobin and my father got their pilots license in 1938.

I suspect my father taught many allied fellows how to fly.....according to his Pilots Log Book.

way back to England as well as a photo of the
cockpit of this aircraft which you have probably seen
first hand. (Photos six and seven.)

Including a Canadian one dollar bill which looks like it was signed by some of his flying mates.

Strangely enough two of the pistol rigs in my collection are associated to pilots in one way or another….

I wish I had information on the German airman that carried this gun..but I don't.


The holster markings;
“jsd” 1942 with Luftwaffe acceptance stamp Eagle over L2.

The German code “jhv” 43 is for Metallwaren, waffen und Machinefabrik AG, Budapest, Hungary produced in 1943.

E/WaA173 German acceptance stamp on the left trigger guard web.

Luftwaffe marked belt.
