I'm a little out of my area here so I hope you gents can help.A friend in Dallas is a long time collector of U.S. wings found this set at a nearby flea market. After exhausting his contacts including writing the manufacturer with no response,I told him I might know where to go to get some help!. He suspects they are for an instructor but beyond that everything is a blank any help would be greatly appreciated! Regards,Geoff

We finally got a hint but perhaps this will point in the general direction.Someone mentioned that there were civilian pilot schools contracted by the military.Perhaps that is the case with these wings? I suspect the second pin was for some type of credentials or badge.Any thoughts? Regards,Geoff

Sorry I can't help, but they are very unique with the attachment pin. They are well made. I'll sit back with my popcorn and watch and learn.
I would howl at the moon and see if Walkwolf replies. Steve has been my go to guy for these and I greatly appreciate all the help he has given me in the past.

Hi Geoff. Unusual to say the least. ( An official US insignia maker
for sure ) Looks like the top portion of some type of award
or 'flying medal' - there is provision for a removeable
ribbon on the pin/clasp. Flying school or club ?

Not connected to the USAAF as far as I know..........
    Regards,

    Steve.
