Default Spanish Civil War Republican Cap

My latest addition to the Spanish collection is this outstanding Republican forces Infantry Lieutenant cap. The look of the cap says it all, it has so much character. It's reminiscent of the soviet caps with the soft baggy crown for lack of a better description. In contrast the Nationalist or Franco troops wore more traditional caps modeled after the German visor with a stiff inclined crown. It may very well have been used by one of the International brigades.
    Cheers, Al

I know it's a bit of a stretch but I found a period photo that shows this type of police cap with a hard bill in use during the civil war. I could not magnify the photo from the internet so a grainy screen shot will have to do. You can see the similarity.

Wrong thread, I meant to post this on Spanish Civil War / Blue Division Volunteer Collection
