Spanish Civil War Republican Cap
My latest addition to the Spanish collection is this outstanding Republican forces Infantry Lieutenant cap. The look of the cap says it all, it has so much character. It's reminiscent of the soviet caps with the soft baggy crown for lack of a better description. In contrast the Nationalist or Franco troops wore more traditional caps modeled after the German visor with a stiff inclined crown. It may very well have been used by one of the International brigades.
Cheers, Al
