Spanish Infantry Buckle & Gala Belt Alfonso XIII era
My latest Spanish acquisition arrived today, a Spanish Infantry buckle & gala belt attributed to the King Alfonso XIII era, 1886 -1931. The buckle is in excellent condition but the belt has seen better days with a lot of moth nips. The belt itself would have been used as a parade or ceremonial accouterments.
I took a photo of the buckle next to a Republic era buckle circa 1931, note the lack of crown due to the abdication of King Alfonso XIII and the establishment of the new Republic of Spain. That only lasted a few years until the civil war began 1936-1939 and Franco became dictator of Spain.
