unknown button ww2 bring back by my father

plain steel back with copper sewing eye,,this was located in his ww2 personal stuff(soap container) i have no idea on what counrty,unit or whatever...his unit was in iceland,belgium,france and germany ..looking for an i,d, if possible ? thanks Ozzy
