I laugh every time I see these. What the heck where they thinking????

Anyway, looks like a nice superior example. Congratulations
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Thanks Map, You do wonder. Photos of them in wear make the wearer look just silly.

    Nice find Robin,

I don't know what sort of price these command at the moment but I feel it is destined for an upward trend for sure. These are uncommon enough to ensure that.

They are also one of those strange things in this hobby that are quirky and odd with absolutely no military value at all yet are very collectible.

I cannot imagine what the idea behind this design was apart from making the wearer look sinister (or a knob to anyone who knows the requirements of a protective helmet ).

With such design and construction such a lid would not protect the wearer from more than an angrily launched tennis ball and the funnel -like shape I imagine would only enhance the effects of blast from the front. The liner looks certain to add to the problem with no cushioning effect and little support. Not something I would be happy to trust my head to but having said that I would be happy to have it in my collection Weird eh?

    Regards

    Mark

It would be nice to think this was taken during the battle of Basra when 40 CDO RM and RSDG gave some of these blokes a bit of a "reaming"

I've always thought that these are the FJ38s of our time.......and they're nowhere near as robust so one "dies" every day (probably)....they're quite alike.....Elite, committed troops, specialists (possibly), small in number but feared....riding around in Hilux.......errr......scrub the Hilux bit......
