    Default PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"

    Hi, mates,

I´m collecting combat knives / fighting knives but I´m very interested in helmets also.

Today I wanna show you an PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops), "Paratroopers helmet".

The PASGET ("K-POT", "Fritz", or, "Fritz-Helmet") was manufactured by:
    Devil´s Lake Sioux
    Speciality Plastic Products (SPP)
    Gentex Corps (Gentex)
    Gibraltar Industries
    STEMACO

As far as I know the PASGT was "introduced in action" in 1983 during operation "Urgent Fury", (the invasion of the isle of Grenada).

    The NSN (National Stock Number):
    8470-01-092-7527
    stands for:
    Helmet, Ground Troops´-Parachutists´

Don´t want to remove the cover and all the other stuff from the helmet so I want to show you a "nude" PASGET, manufactured by UNICOR, for comparison:

Another one, manufactured by Devils Lake Sioux, showin´ the "chocolate chip pattern" helmet cover.

Curious, if such "modified", PASGET´s, (showing the foam inlays / pads in the shell, and, in the rim on the neck, and, the modified chinstrap), were in use during "Operation Restore Hope", (codename for the attack on targets in the town of Mogadishu during 3rd/4th of October 1993: "Irene"), and, worn by "Delta´s" and "Ranger´s" there, or, if the US -units worn their pots without any modifications, or, to be precise, the "PASGT Paratrooper Helmet" never, ever, saw action in the "Mog" ...

    I found another PASGT.

The helmet is clearly used and the sweatband has been replaced.
This is a "newer generation" sweatband.
It no longer has to be hung in the liner with clips, but is simply hung in using velcros (velcro strips).

This is a PASGET from the manufacturer UNICOR in size L-6

Another one of my PASGT helmets.
    Here, from the manufacturer DEVILS LAKE SIOUXPASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"PASGET "Paratrooper´s K Pot"

The camouflage scheme for the "BDU" , (Battle Dress Uniform), here:
the "DCU" , (Desert Camouflage Uniform).
This is the three color desert camo
This camouflage scheme was probably in use from the mid-1990s until around 2004/2005.

This camouflage was in use in the US armed forces, among others, also in Somalia, in Afghanistan, as well as in 2nd Iraq, as far as I know.

The rank insignia should probably correspond to a Special Rank (specialist / SPC / Enlisted E-4)?

BTW, (I don't know if I'm allowed to write this here in the thread), I'm always looking for helmet camouflage covers for the "PASGET" in sizes Large and X-Large in the camouflage scheme "coffee stain camouflage" and Six-Color Desert Pattern, colloquially, also known as chocolate-chip camouflage and cookie dough camouflage.
I would also like to add camouflage covers for the PASGET in other camouflage patterns to my collection.

I showed some of the accessories that I received a few days ago together with a modified PASGT with a woodland helmet camouflage cover.

Here are some images of the "K-Pot" aka "Fritz" from the manufacturer GENTEX :
