    And some other things.

This German messtin lay under the M1 liner helmet and is in remarkably good condition.

Already posted this one in the battledamaged items topic but it was also a Saarland relic.

Here are some pictures of the M1 Garand from the first post after it had been cleaned.

    Mate,

What a fantastic view of the river, I wouldn't mind living there, bonus all the digging too!

I've must of somehow missed this thread. Those are some very nice finds, I really like that tinnie. Are they surface finds or do you guys use a metal detector?

    Hello Nick,

Yes we do use a metal detector but some of the finds were done on the surface, like the German canteen, the German helmet and the 105mm containers. The Garand, M1 liner, 2 Essgeschirrs, US canteen and the hautentgiftunsbottle all came from one pit.

The area is not empty yet, but we were there half june and the whole forest was just full with bushes and ticks and is was unpleasantly warm.

    Hi Bart

Thx for the replies. I would love to come with you guys some day. Finding my own German helmet has always been somewhat of a collectors dream of mine. Could you perhaps mail me the maps of the locations you searched. I might take a peek at those spots this summer...
