Getting the right color as a finishing touch is the most difficult part (to me) in the restoration process.
The color our eye gets to see is the reflexion of the light on an object, so texture of a paint is very important too!
I use the pantone color formula guide who as got 1114 different colors, mainly used in the printing industry (an other field of intrest I have, but that is a whole different chapter).
And I think I have got twice as much formula's of my own registered on old plates( every color I have ever made is been kept ), because a particular paint can look totaly different on porcelain then on paper.
