A bell found in trench....

Hello! I found this bell with my metal detector buried in trench, in Romania...some where offensive for Turda-Cluj Napoca where took placed... could number 8 indicate some regiment (German, Romanian, Hungarian or even Russian) that have faught in this battle...thx

Perhaps the 8 was used to indicate the size, style or mold number of that particular bell by the manufacturer.

I have found bells also before and the 8 was used to indicate the size,you can get all sorts of size bells and alot are marked with a size number on them
