Sorry, got no incredible SS rings/buckles/helmets to show here Instead I'll throw in some photographs of the ordinary surface finds I've come across in the vast wilderness of the northernmost sector of the Eastern Front.

    A few Mauser strippers.

Nebelwerfer stuff, first a base fuze...

...then a bit more than just the fuze. Nothing inside, just an empty broken shell - nice markings though.

Always a nice find: a lid piece from a bakelite flash reducer container for the 7,5cm Geb. G. 36 mountain gun. This one was in pretty nice shape and dated 1943.

    75mm, 105mm casings anyone?

And much, much more to come.

It's all gold to me! Nice finds.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Very interesting. Some of those items have survived remarkably well after so many years.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, that indeed seems to be a rather common thing with these Lapland relics. Even the surface finds occasionally have some wartime paintwork still visible. Not an expert myself but I think we can thank the cold and dry winters of the region along with the thick, long-lasting protective snow mass for that

    Speaking of original paintwork...

A few protection spacers for German 10,5 cm shell carriers.

And this 17 cm shell carrier isn't too bad either:

    Great stuff!

I spent 8 months in Norway hoping to stumble on a single relic in the woods, and no luck. Love seeing these arctic related relics!

When I was in Lapland it was only snow on the ground

That's a shame. I must admit, though, that there is usually a lot of research involved in finding these locations - it's not like I randomly stumble upon ammunition dumps on my way to the grocery store

Heh, not too rare up there. I once found myself in the middle of a blizzard in June
